Results

The SEISMOCODE project was completed, having the following outcomes:

  • Development of a complex e-learning platform to support the practical implementation of the newly-adopted Romanian code for the design of buildings for earthquake resistance, P100-1/2013, harmonized with the homologous European standard, Eurocode 8, part 1 (EN1998-1:2004);
  • Creation of an online, systematic and structured body of engineering knowledge in the field of seismic conception and design of buildings, that the platform users can continually enrich by their own contributions;
  • Development of interactive training and (self-)assessment modules, supporting the assimilation of the new regulations;
  • Creation of a multimedia resources collection in the field of modern conception and design of buildings;
  • Creation of a virtual space for professional discussions on the present and future development and improvement of seismic design regulations for reinforced concrete buildings and on the seismic risk mitigation measures; this space also represents an important interaction channel with platform users and other stakeholders.
